The Vivo X20 Set to Launch On September 21

One of the most recent sightings of the brand new upcoming Vivo X20 was on a poster for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. It is going to be launched on September 21, 2017 and Vivo has even already been sending out invitations for the coveted event. Some specifications of the new phone have even been leaked, including the fact that it will be equipped with the Snapdragon 660 SoC.

According to the suggestion in the image, it seems the X30 handset will have the same compact bezel design as earlier mentioned. A TENAA listing shows that a smartphone with the models Vivo X20 and X20A have the same dual cameras and the same orientation as the existing iPhone 7, as well as the same sensor for fingerprints.

A Chinese blogging site called Weibo has also leaked a live image of the Vivo X20 as well. This image seems to point to the X20 being powered by a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 660 SoC. This is one particular asset that will truly differentiate the X30 from the V7+, which comes with Snapdragon 450 SoC.

Besides the heavy-hitting processor, it is believed that Vivo’s X20 will run Android Nougat 7.1.1 right out of the box. Previous leaks about the Vivo X20 and the Vivo X20 Plus say that they will have 5.2 and 5.5-inch displays that feature 1080×1920 pixels. The display is also scratch resistant, featuring a Corning Gorilla Glass coating on the top. They also are likely to contain 6GB of RAM with batteries rated at 3500mAh.

We expect the optics to be expressive as well, with both the X20 and the X20 Plus coming with 24 megapixel cameras in the front. Vivo has long been known for their selfie-focused phone models and the X20 is one of them.

The handset also features 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, an FM radio, Wi-Fi and connectivity options that include USB OTG.

It has also been announced that Vivo will release a Mars Edition X20 that is all matte black in finish.

The X20 is suspected to have a built in in-screen scanner for fingerprints as well. This is a feature that was brought to demonstration by the Vivo Company in 2017 at the Mobile World Congress Shanghai. It is not yet known whether this part is actually a true feature, as the technology is relatively new at present.
